About Livonia City Cafe

Tucked away in the charming town of Livonia, a hidden gem awaits those with a palate for flavorful east Asian cuisine — Livonia City Cafe. For anyone passing through or residing in this little Louisiana hideaway, it promises an experience both satisfying and delightful.

The magic begins right as one walks through the door. The decor is subtly elegant, offering an intimate setting perfect for both a laid-back lunch and a cozy dinner. The staff here are not only courteous but also engage warmly, ensuring that every visitor feels right at home from the moment they step inside.

Now, the real highlight — the menu. This isn't just any standard list of offerings; it’s a celebration of Chinese culinary delights. The classic General Tso's chicken boasts a perfect balance of tangy and savory, while the Szechuan beef has just the right kick to awaken the taste buds without overwhelming them. Vegetarians, too, find a haven here, with dishes like the stir-fried tofu with seasonal vegetables that deliver freshness in every bite. It's as though a trip across China is being taken, one plate at a time.

Those with a penchant for noodles will find themselves in awe of the homemade lo mein, a dish that glistens with flavor and comfort. Not to mention, the hot and sour soup serves as a soul-warming precursor to any meal here. Top these off with a fortune cookie, and the meal becomes not just food but a complete experience.

Geography-wise, it's nestled in a rather idyllic setting — one that's somehow removed enough to transport diners to a place where time slows down, yet is just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of city life. With each dish meticulously curated to reflect genuine flavors, it's no wonder Livonia City Cafe is seen as Livonia's best-kept secret.

The best Lo Mein I've ever had. I won't even eat Lo Mein at any other restaurant anymore because it never comes close to being as good as City Cafe. I can honestly say that anything I've ever eaten here is delicious and trust me I've tried just about everything on the menu. Not to mention the fact that the owners are so nice and the prices are very reasonable.

Best Chinese restaurant. Authentic Chinese food. Love it. And I’m from Houston. Good food
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 — Al Espinosa
Good food but the place needs an interior design team to come in and do a makeover. I ordered a little off menu and it turned out wonderful. Sampling a few other dishes around the table netted savory taste of different dishes. We all ordered Chinese. Even though the name of the restaurant does not suggest it I suspect that the restaurant is Chinese or of asian influence. The proprietors are very welcoming and also serve the patrons while running the kitchen. They also seem to know everyone that walks in and treats them like old friends or family. The restaurant also does computer repairs. When visiting for the first time you will need to pay complete attention or you will pass it up. Just look for the flashing sign in front of a red brick building that says Chinese, seafood and computer repair.

Great food every time, tried much of the menu and have never been disappointed. Mr John and ms sue are some of the best people you could ever hope to meet. They are down to earth and are truly appreciative of their customers and friends.

Not much to look at, but the best Chinese food I've ever had, hands down! Haven't tasted anything here that wasn't delicious! Food is cooked fresh and beats ANY Chinese buffet, anywhere.
